For sale: Partridge Plymouth Rock pullet (female) chicks and hatching eggs. The chicks hatched on 01-30-2012 and 02-06-2012 and are available for $5.00 each.
Everyone knows the Barred Plymouth Rock is an egg laying machine, but what most people don’t know is that all of the Rock varieties are just as prolific layers! I have a very small flock of these wonderful birds, but it is not unusual for me to pick up 4 eggs a day from the 3 hens. This heritage breed is slow growing and finishes big. They stand confinement well, love to roam about the field for a bit in search of fresh snacks, and are easy enough to gather back up.
Our Partridge Rock are from the Horstman bloodline. My daughter just started showing this breed at the 2012 Bluebonnet Classic Poultry Show as part of her 4H Poultry project. We were all very happy with the results: 1st Place Best Variety and Reserve American Class (Junior Show)!
