You can help make a valuable contribution simply by becoming a citizen lobbyist. You merely need to care about helping animals, have a spare minute or two and learn about grassroots lobbying.

The mission of the Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN) is to promote the humane treatment of animals through legislation, education and advocacy.

Established in 1975, The Network is a grassroots, nonprofit organization that fights for the enactment and enforcement of laws to protect animals from abuse and neglect. The Network is a voice for every animal and animal welfare agency in Texas.

Help make Texas a safer place for animals by giving just a few minutes of your time during the next Legislative Session.

How? By signing up to receive THLN's Action Alerts and responding to them with calls and faxes to your state senator and representative. Every call and fax helps!!

Your help is especially needed during January through June of a legislative year, which falls every odd numbered year in Texas (ie: 2011). During this time, we need you to phone your legislators, mail letters, help with fund raising, assist in legal research, and join us at the Capitol to lobby the legislature. During the off years, THLN works to determine the animal protection issues to be pursued in the next session.
